“Can we talk?”

I want to begin by saying that everything that exists around us, exists simultaneously with the spiritual world. I know that this is a difficult concept to grasp, but it couldn’t be any truer. Much like love which cannot be seen, only felt, as is the spiritual realm. Although we may notice, or not, the spirit world is always trying to communicate with us. Is there someone that is trying to communicate with you? You may ask a particular question and receive an answer through a friend, a song that came up on the radio, a random thought that popped into your head, or perhaps even in a dream.

Last nights dream was very short, but straight to the point. I was invited to an old friends house for their daughters 7th birthday party. Everyone was gathered in the living room to watch Grace (Not her real name), open up her presents. Her mother Simon (Not her real name), was sitting next to her in excitement, waiting to see her open her gift. There was something about this particular gift that had all of my attention. In the box she was opening, was one Walkie Talkie. Grace started to show her mother in excitement! Simon said to Grace,  “Wow, what a coincidence! I just went to the store this week and bought the same one. Let me get it out of my purse.” The dream was over shortly thereafter.

Feelings of worry started to overwhelm me. Walkie Talkies symbolize communication. It is a desire to express something, or to alert someone about a particular matter, or a conflict. This is a way for your subconscious to send you a message about a particular deed you will need to perform in the near future. Someone will entrust you with something personal, but you need to make sure you understand the consequences before you accept. In this dream, we were celebrating a friends 7th birthday.  Seven is a sign of success, or even triumph. It’s saying that it is time for you to move ahead and up through your knowledge and wisdom. It represents the spiritual maturity that has been acquired, through a long learning cycle. This happens to be one of the most significant numbers in the bible, which is marked on every work of God. Seven also represents a “Seeker“, or “the searcher of truth“. Seven likes to prove that nothing is always what it seems, and that reality is often hidden behind illusions.

Collectively, when the walkies are seperate, it is my symbol for a lack of communication between two people. Either someone doesn’t want to talk, or there is a misunderstanding. Being that this was “hanging over my head”, I decided to contact my friends and make sure everything was okay. Sadly, I learned that they are currently going through a divorce. Although the answers we find aren’t always the ones we’d  hope for,  the spirit world will send them in order for us to help others, lend an ear, or perhaps share a few words of hope to those in need. I believe that we are all tools we can use. “People need People” to get by for comfort, support, to love and be loved, to share with, to learn from, to guide and be guided, to feel wanted, etc. Maybe this task I was given, may not have significance for some, but maybe for someone, this simple task meant the world.

“The Red Napkin”

Life can sometimes throw us a major curve ball. It can place us in uncomfortable circumstances such as changes in your career or business, family relationships, financial status, religious changes, etc. And it’s no doubt that each of these transitions can bring about stress on every level. Depending on your situation, will be the degree of impact on your personal self. Life changes can leave us doubting ourselves. It may even have us questioning our sense of identity. Although to us it may seem like the end of the world, I’ve learned that transitions can be a wonderful opportunity for growth.

Dreams can act as a therapy during these transitions in your life. They may come as a small excerpt for comfort, or a long “movie” to guide you through. On June 20th, 2018, I dreamed that I was in a parking lot at the mall. I was with my husband and children, making our way towards my husband’s truck. As I opened the passenger door to get in, I noticed a red table napkin, dug into the handle of the car door. I never took the napkin from the door, I simply starred at it, wondering why it was left there, as I sat inside and buckled up. As we start driving off, I could see a strange man, from my rearview mirror, walking slowly towards our truck, with the same red napkin. I didn’t have a good feeling from this man (bad feeling). I was glad we drove off when we did.

Now let’s analyze this dream. As you can see, all the important Key Words are in bold. Starting with the Parking lot, this represents a transition in your career as you explore new avenues, in which you can move forward. In a sense, your forward movement is currently on a temporary hold. As for the Table Napkin, this symbolizes entertainment where you will be the main figure. It is a symbol of our emotional state and our needs being met. The color Red on the napkin, represents a raw energy force, passion, aggression, power, courage, inclusiveness, a deep and spiritual connotation. The Stranger may be aspects of yourself that you are denying or repressing. This may also be a guide that is bringing you what you are lacking in emotional needs. He is most likely bringing you inspiration and support, in your transitional journey.

As the saying goes, “Great things never came from comfort zones.” Each change that we face in our lives, requires a new version of ourselves. Each new version being a better and stronger one. Get to that point where you are comfortable being uncomfortable. We may sometimes feel that we are walking with no directions, but if you watch carefully, you can see that we are never really “walking alone”.

“The face in the clouds”

I’m not sure about you, but I for one am a cloud watcher. I find a sense of peace and calmness when I look up at the clouds just passing by. At times, you can make out an image in the clouds, such as a heart, an elephant, ect. For some, there are religious figures that they may see. This is called Pareidolia, or the experience of a person finding meaning or significance in a random stimulus.

When dreaming of faces in the clouds, it may portray a whole other meaning. On February 4th, 2014, I had a strange dream of two faces in the clouds. One of the faces was half pirate, and the other half skeleton. To the lower left of that face, was another person’s face (I could not tell the gender), looking at the pirate with a worried stare. Faces in clouds could signify that you are giving preference to external beauty, rather than seeing what truly lies inside of that person. Depending on how the expression on the face was, is what that person’s behavior or attitude is towards you. This person may seem sweet on the outside, but has cruel intentions against you. There is symbolism of a person or situation that is adding chaos to your emotional life. You may even feel that someone has violated your integrity.

In this case the Pirate may represent freedom, risk taking, and adventures. As for a Skeleton face, this symbolizes feelings in your life that have totally been stripped away. Skeletons also reflect ones fears, or lingering memories about their failures, or any unpleasant changes that have occurred in their life. When looking at this specific dream as a whole, one may interpret it as the person’s face, being ones face. How there may be aspects of ones life that we don’t pay enough attention to, or how fear of what might be, can take over.

These faces can often times, give off feelings of being watched. Our fears of being seen for who we truly are. They may tell us to become more observant and cautious when dealing with a particular person or situation. Fear puts us in our most vulnerable state and can sometimes prohibit us from moving forward. Past or present situations are there to teach us. We may choose to change it, or we may choose to keep it exactly the way it is. Am I happy? What am I scared about? Why do I care what others think? Why do I care how others see me? Or like the skeleton, allowing others to strip away at your feelings. Either way, keep a close eye on what those dreams are revealing to you. They just may be the key to helping you move forward.

“The many colors of our Self”

There are four distinct parts that make up a human. That’s the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies. As humans, we have attributes such as reason, morality, conciousness, or self-conciousness. In the spiritual world, there are many things that may describe a human personally. Some of these are animals, numbers, and colors. These may describe your strengths and weaknesses, your fears and concerns, your life path, your relationship with yourself and others, and so on.

On February of 2017, I had a very distinct dream. I found myself running through a beautiful forest, towards someone that I did not know, and could not see. Before I reached that person, I am intersected by another being filled with a very bright, white light. This being stood in front of me, positioning it’s light with the light eminating from my body. However, I noticed that my light was not white, rather the first layer was light pink and the second layer lime green.

Although this dream may seem short, it carries many messages within it. The forest symbolizes a state of being lost or confused. It is encouraging you to trust your instincts in order to find your way out. It can also mean that you are exploring your unconscious to “find yourself.” In the dream, I found myself running towards someone. Now, you should always be certain if you were running to or away from someone, as each of these have a totally different meaning. Running towards may represent that you are on the right track about a particular goal or certain responsibilities. When seeing a “Being of Light“, this represents illumination, clarity, guidance, understanding, and also insight. You may also find, that there will be light shed on a particular situation that was once confusing. I felt a sense of love from this being. Almost as if it’s light was purifying all the negative emotions within me.

When it comes to the Auras, or rings of colors that make up our outer layers, it is an electromagnetic energy field that surrounds people, like an egg-shaped ball of energy. The light pink aura represents a very sensitive soul who values love, art, and freedom. This color symbolizes a natural healer. Someone who is highly sensitive to the needs of others. Lime green, when seen as a second layer, means that this person is being guided by their highest good. Green represents prosperity and growth, but also negative emotions like envy and pride. The two layers in this dream represent emotions and feelings.

These dreams help us see ourselves a little deeper. They come to open up our hearts and our minds, or to give us that boost in confidence we may need. Once again we see a “guide”, or “light being”, within the dream reminding us that we are not alone. You can sometimes draw in beings that are in alignment with your vibration. Journeying through these types of dreams is about mirroring, and the better you get at understanding these visions, the clearer they will become.

“The tree of life”

If you had to describe your current life situation at this moment, what would it be? Is it strong or fragile? Do you feel fulfilled or empty? Are you needed or needy? Are you well-grounded or up in the clouds? Where are you in your life right now? Wherever you feel that you may be, remember that life is what we make of it. Your life situation is NOT permanent, and may still be changed. Our lives are like a muscle and must be excercised continuously.

This reminds me of a vision I had while meditating, on March 30th, 2017. I recall seeing a deserted field where nothing seemed to grow. To the far distance, I saw a beautiful tree standing in all of its brilliance. I made my way towards the tree. As I was getting closer, I can see that this was no ordinary tree. It’s trunk looked old and very strong. The roots grew as long as a mile in legnth. This tree had no branches, rather it’s leaves grew straight out of the center of it. The leaves looked like extremely long alfalfa sprouts, and where very white. They seemed to be alive and breathing. The beautiful tree was shining brightly. I felt a deep connection to it as I got closer. Soon after, my meditation was over.

The Tree is associated with your life. The roots are your foundation. The trunk is an element of your existence. The tree is a representation of how life grows and the connection to your family. When you see a tree standing alone, this may indicate that you will be able to produce solutions on your own when in a difficult situation.

When leaves on a tree are like sprouts, this refers to abundance, love, or a person who will be admired. Healthy and lively sprout leaves, refer to happiness in love. When it comes to a huge and strong trunk, it may be representing your inner sense of well-being and personality. This denotes that you are a strong and durable person. A trunk like this, may also represent old memories and ideals, hopes, and old emotions. It may be issues and feelings that you have not wanted to deal with.

The colors of the tree trunk are also symbolic. In this vision, the trunk was brown. Brown represents the ground and earth. It also means practicality, the physical, instinctual, or the materialistic. At times, it may represent something negative such as depression, lack of clarity, or a state of confusion. The tree was glowing in a beautiful, bright light. This carries the meaning of a particular problem resolved, that has long been around.

In this case, the tree had white leaves. The white stands for your feelings about others. It is a representation of your feminine side. It is also a symbol of growth, openness, and the way people feel they can rely and trust on you. White is purity, perfection, peace, dignity, cleanliness, and even new beginnings.

As you can see, all aspects of a tree represents a part of our lives. Everything from the roots that dig deep into our soul, to the trunk that establishes our foundation. What do you think your tree looks like?

“Hotel Mishap”

personal reflection is an opportunity to reconsider events, personal thoughts and feelings from perhaps, a different perspective. What we see in other’s, at times, may sometimes be a reflection of ourselves. As for me, I feel that sitting back and reviewing yourself, or your life, or even a current situation is difficult, yet it is necessary for your own evolvement, or spiritual growth. For many, self reflection is a very difficult task. It’s easier for us to place blame, than to really analyze ourselves, or our motives. It is because of this, that the spiritual world will find a way to, in essence, force us to see the good, the bad, and the ugly, of ourselves.

This dream came to me on January, 1st, of 2017. It was a beautiful sunny day with not a cloud in the sky. My husband and I decided, that it’s a great day to take the boat out for some fun with some friends. After being out on the water for most of the day, we dock our boat alongside the hotel where we were staying. Immediately after checking in, my husband and I, head to our room. Upon opening the door, we find that there were two men that we’re already staying in the same room. The room had only two twin beds, in which I was adamant about sharing. Clearly the hotel had made a reservation error!

While my husband was speaking to one of the gentlemen, the other was sitting at the room desk, writing on one of the complimentary note pads. As I was observing them, I realized that they looked exactly the same. Everything from their eyebrows to their lips, their height, weight, and even their clothing were the same. While my husband and the other gentlemen were conversing, I decided to resolve this hotel mishap on my own. I spent about 2 hours looking for the front desk of the hotel, in the lobby area, but never had any success. Soon after, my dream was over.

My findings were as follows:

Hotel resort: This may suggest that one is in need of a break, relaxation, or vacation.

Two men: This may represent a shadow aspect of yourself, that you, may be projecting. If you dislike, or are afraid of the men, then they are likely representing a negative trait of yourself, in which you are not seeing. It may also be a negative behavior, emotion, or memory, that you are denying, or repressing.

Unknown man: This represents someone that is known to you, but you do not recognize, because his behavior has changed. He may also represent yourself, because you yourself, are going through changes, and your recent behavior or thoughts, are not recognizable to you any longer.

Twin Beds: This may be suggesting a need for rest, or lack of sleep. It may also represent comfort, or peace of mind. A hotel bed may represent, an exploration of your own inner self. This may suggest that you are going through a transformation as to “finding yourself”.

When you are feeling confused, or maybe even an outcast, your dreams may reflect that feeling. Being vulnerable allows your mind to make the most of your worst fears. Your lack of control over a situation is manifesting itself in your dream. Take this as an opportunity to better your situation, better yourself. Baby steps is what it’s all about. We all have great forces surrounding us with love and guidance. Embrace it!

“The Helpless Observer”

If you’ve been following me so far, you’ve seen me mention how dreams may come in various forms. One of those are, premonitions. Now, there are many factors that may play against us here when it comes to such dreams, and one of those factors, is time. Many times you will receive a message that may not occur right away. At times, it may even take years before its fulfilled. Either way, it is essentially important to gather your information and break down your dreams, as these warnings may heed you to help forewarn others, or they may pass you by, like me.

On March 24th, 2018, I had a vivid dream that I was floating above the ocean. It was dark and appeared to be very late at night. The dream began peacefully. I could feel the wind in my face as I was flying over the waters. Suddenly, there was a strong gust of wind! As I gazed below, I saw the ocean turn to fire. Right away, that feeling of peace and freedom, flying through the night sky, left within me. I became scared and apprehensive.

To my left, appeared a white dove, carrying a cross in its beak. The cross seemed to be made of twigs, and was also in flames. For some strange reason, I didn’t feel afraid anymore, but felt the dyer need to stay alert. The dove was flying towards a volcano I could see, in the far distance. After this, my dream ended.

As always, I woke up that morning and began to write down my dream. My personal findings were as follows:

Floating: Resembles feelings of independance, freedom, acceptance, happiness, satisfaction, and success. However, as a negative, it may represent when someone or something is out of control.

Flying: Represents an escape from the pressures of the real world.

Water and Fire: When the two symbols are combined in your dream, it often reflects a state of confusion.

Dove: pure and good omen. It symbolizes quietness, peacefulness, calmness, acceptance, serenity, and enlightenment. A dove is associated with good health, prosperity, good thoughts, love and spirituality.

Cross: Restless with worry.

Twigs: a twig may represent something about yourself that is very sensitive or easy to break.

Now, this dream occurred in March, and Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano erupted on May 3rd, 2018. This is one of those premontions that are difficult to decipher. How could I have known, it was the Kilauea volcano? What would you have done differently to gather more information? Remember, we are all on seperate journeys, but it’s vital to learn from one another for our spiritual evolution.

“The Wolf Pack”

Today, I feel a strong need to continue my communication about spirit animals. As I previously mentioned, Spirit Animals are, other worldly guides who appear to offer love, healing, and support. They are essentially, who you really are.

I usually wait until everyone is asleep, in order to do my meditations more calmly. However, last night I was unable to keep an eyelid open, and so I fell right to sleep. I dreamed that I was in this beautiful park, somewhere up North. There were many large maple trees, Pine trees, and even gardens along the sidewalks of the park. All the trees and flowers had very vibrant colors. The park was very busy. I was with both of my children in the playground area.

In addition to the inmense beauty of this park, was a very unusual and unsettling situation. This park was home to Wolves! Wolves, in this particular park, were free to roam among the people. I saw some people jogging along the trails, while wolves were right alongside them. As I’m standing there, contemplating and in total disbelief, I see two wolves off to the distance. They seemed to be walking right towards my children and I. With not even a thought in my mind, I grabbed both of my children and asked them to run as fast as they could. While running, I had my daughter in front me, but there was no sight of my son. I asked my daughter to continue running, and to not stop, while I went in search for my son. As I ran back to the playground, I see my son, still on the swings. I yelled loudly, “Didn’t you hear me calling you?” He shrugged his shoulders while walking towards me. I asked him to start running to where his sister was and to wait for me there.

As I turned around, I see a huge, white and grey wolf, with the most beautiful sky-blue eyes. He was absolutely gorgeous! I felt slightly nervous, yet drawn to him for some reason. The wolf’s eyes seemed to get bigger, and the blue even more intense. As I starred into his eyes, I felt a huge peace within myself. Guilt soon kicked in as I realized that these animals were not trying to hurt us. Soon after, my dream ended.

My findings were as follows:

The Wolf: Symbolizes a strong connection with your instincts or intuition. High Intelligence, loyalty, communication, survival, solitude, self-confidence, and pride.

Grey and White fur: These colors represent your pure intentions, by staying true to your path, you may get others to agree with you. The white, symbolizes valor and victory.

Blue Wolf Eyes: You are receiving help and support from an unexpected or unlikely source. You may have perceived this person all wrong. The blue stands for purity, and self-respect. They assure positive changed occurring soon in your waking life.

Pack of wolves: This symbolizes a family unit. This highlights a sense of belonging and how you expect your family members to look out for you, or how you would lookout for their well-being. How family is the soul support and foundation of your existence. You would do anything for them, but sometimes you may worry that they may not do the same for you.

You see, messages may be brought to us in the most unexpected ways. These spirit animals remind us of our deep connection with them. Much like spirit, they need to find a way to bring about their message, since they are unable to do so here in the physical world. It is a deep reflection of how difficult it is for some of us to really express our true feelings. It is also a guide, to perhaps, shift our perspectives, as to a particular situation. Either way, I’d like for you to take the time to evaluate your next dream. Break it down as I showed you here, and you will truly be amazed at what comes through for you!20180615_075809.png

“Grandma’s Visit”

Family is the single most important influence in a person’s  life. Research has proved that having a support system has many benefits, such as higher well-being and recovery, better coping skills, and a healthier life. In times of either depression, or loss of a family or close friend, or perhaps a disease, or even going into a surgery, you may have the best support system, yet still feel all alone. With their best of intentions and all of their love, you may STILL feel all alone. But, are you?

It was February of 2008 when I decided to go to see a doctor, regarding an annoying, sharp-shooting pain in my left breast. This had been going on for quite a few months, but I paid no attention to it. The sharp pain started from my left axilla, down to the center of my breast. It was a strange kind of pain that would only make its presence from time to time. My decision to go see the doctor, was only after noticing that my left breast was starting to look alot larger than the right, and was weighing down.

At the visit, the doctor performed an ultrasound that revealed what appeared to be, a large mass. He said that the mass looked like it had been there for quite some time and appeared benign, but he could not be certain of that until he remove it. Now, as important of a situation I knew this was, I was also thinking that I had just given birth to my beautiful daughter, and the hospital bills were still coming. The Doctor recommended that I should not wait any longer than 6 months to do the surgery, as this could make matters worse. So, I went ahead and scheduled my surgery for…6 months later. I know, I know, what was I thinking right? My nerves were eating me alive, and just the thought of the possibility of having breast cancer made me just shut down. I had never felt so alone! Now, my husband is such a huge support system, as are my parents, however, I felt that if I told them right away, they’d be worrying for way too long and in turn, would only make me more nervous.

Fast forward a few days before the surgery, I revealed to my husband and parents what the were really searching for. I had asked the doctor to fully reconstruct and search, both of my breasts, just in case there was something overlooked. Now it’s August 15, 2008, and I’m being prepped for surgery. I say my final goodbyes to my husband and my mother before being taken to the operating room. I remember the fear in the pit of my stomach, because I didn’t feel the sedatives working. I remember everything from entering the O.R., to where the doctors and nurses were standing, to the very end of my surgery. I aslo remember seeing my maternal grandmother, which we called abuela Flora, standing always, at the end of my bed. The surgery lasted about 6 hours.

The next day, I was home in my bed falling into a deep sleep. In dream state, I found myself in my parents house, having dinner with the family around the dining room table. Suddenly, the doorbell rings and my mother got up to answer the door. Upon opening the door, I hear my mother gasp loudly, as if she had seen a ghost. There standing was abuela Flora. Abuela came in quickly and said a general, yet warm, hello. She came directly to me and sat beside me at the table. Her inmense love had entered that room before she did. I miss her so much! Abuela began to say how she didn’t have much time to chat, but that she wanted to see how I was feeling. I started explaining to her how the surgery went, when she interrupted my sentence to say that she knows, because she had been there the whole time. Abuela said, ” I knew how nervous and worried you were and I wanted to comfort you.” I hugged her and thanked her repeatedly! I noticed that there was a priest with her. He waited for abuela at the door. I asked my grandmother whom he was, and she responded with Father Pio. Father Pio would perform miracles of healing, of conversion, of bilocation, and the stigmata.  His miracles brought many people to Christ and illuminated God’s goodness and love for us. My grandmother says that he healed me. With that, she said her goodbyes, kissed me on my cheek and ran out the front door.

Feeling sad at such a short visit, I ran after her. When I stepped outside, everything looked totally different. There was no driveway or street, everything was gravel. I saw an old Cadillac Eldorado Coupe, in which abuela had hopped into. Quickly, I rushed towards the car to see inside. In the car was my maternal grandfather and great grandfather, one of my mother’s aunt’s and uncle. I was so incredibly happy to see them! I was so overwhelmed with joy! Everyone in the car had been transformed to a more youthful version of themselves. And with that, they drove away.

I will never forget the level of comfort and love I received from my family throughout that time. It reminded me that even when loved ones have crossed over, they will still continue to love and support you, no matter what. I am blessed beyond belief and am so thankful for my beautiful family, both with me in the physical world as well as those that have departed.

“Everything but the crab”

Spirit animals carry meaning, wisdom, and spiritual power. The ancient people and the Natives have always believed that animals are spirit messengers. They come through either as physical forms, signs, or etheric manifestations. They serve as sacred messengers that come to you to, sort of, spark your consiousness, or heed a warning or premonition.

On July 7th, 2013, I was in the kitchen of my house preparing a Paella (Latin seafood dish), and my husband’s lunch, as he was heading out to work. As he was gathering all his things, I mentioned to him how I had all the fish I needed for the Paella, except for the crab. I was hosting a meditation gathering around 10 a.m. that morning, and was trying to have lunch ready before everyone arrived. As he was walking towards the front door, my husband says, “It’s okay, it’ll taste just as good without the crab.” Suddenly, I hear him open the door and slam it right shut again! He says, “Babe, I found your missing crab right here!” I couldn’t believe my eyes! Right in front of my doorstep was a huge land crab. The crab seemed to stop and stare at me, almost as if he was letting me know that his visit, was for me.

The crab then, ran into the driveway, underneath my car. It made it’s way up the inner part of my front, right tire. I couldn’t stop saying how incredibly crazy this was! I mean, how in the world would a huge land crab just walk up to my from door, after I had just said I was missing the crab in my Paella. Truth is, it was a relief for me to see that crab there.

Earlier that week, I had an appointment to have my yearly mammogram done. I was told that there was a dark area on my left breast that resembled cancer, therefore, they needed to run more tests. You see, this crab came to reveal to me that all was okay. The fact that the crab was missing from the Paella dish and was at my doorstep, means that the cancer was not in my breast, and it was all a scare. The crab symbolizes what’s most precious to you. It is the quintessential symbol of self protection, bounderies, and also teaching others how to treat you.

These are just a few of the beautiful ways life communicates with us. Every living thing and creature has a soul purpose, or mission. I believe we are all here to show forth our love and compassion for one another. Open up your mind and soul to these soul messengers and allow their spirit to, not only guide you, but comfort you when you need it most.

“A gift from the other side”

Screenshot_20180627-070849There is definitely, an indescribable love, when it comes to family. But no matter how near or far, that love and bond, will never be broken. The spirit of a passed loved one, lives within our hearts forever. And even in the next life, they are closer than you think. They are always trying to communicate with us as best they can.

A few months ago, I had a beautiful dream with my aunt, Fulvia. Fulvi was a very dedicated, and hard working attorney. Although, to some, she had  the appearance of a tough facade, she was extremely selfless and helped so many around her. She was extremely intelligent and new much about everything (and trust me, if she didn’t, she’d research the heck out of it).

On November 17, 2015, my loving aunt lost her life to a malignant brain tumor. None of us around her could understand how this could happen to such a wonderful person. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family. Fulvia’s passing was felt by all. Her mark was left on all of those she came across, and her void, I can’t explain.

A few months ago, I had a dream where I found myself in the kitchen area, at my house. The kitchen had a large, panoramic window that would overlook the backyard. I could see that the yard was set up for some type of celebration; maybe a birthday or baptism. Finishing up the hors d’oeuvres, I decided to go outside and mingle. All the tables had beautiful linens and floral center pieces. All the way to the far left of the yard, was an empty table in which I took a seat. Just as I sat down, there was a young girl walking towards me with an antique, wooden box. She proceeded to tell me that the box was a gift from my aunt Fulvia. It was a beautiful, vintage, hand-carved jewelry box. Inside where four lockets of my aunt’s hair, from when she was younger. The lockets were very neatly placed and had a tight knot on one of the ends.

I was so filled with gratitude that I began to cry. The hairs still had her smell and I could feel her close to me. Suddenly, I hear a commotion among my family and friends that were present. They had all formed a circle and I was intrigued as to what was the matter. As I approached the circle, I see my aunt, Fulvia. We both walked up to eachother and began to hug. I didn’t want to let go of her. It felt so real!

She invited me to sit down. I couldn’t stop looking at her and felt so emotionally overwhelmed with joy. Fulvia began to tell me that she was back. I said, “What do you mean you’re back?” She said, “Yes, (hitting her forearm with the tips of her fingers) I’m alive and I’m back again!” I didn’t understand. I said, “But, how can this be? You can stay with us or with your daughter, whom just bought a house. Don’t worry about money because we will help you.” With a smirk on her face, Fulvia began to say, “I don’t need any money. I have my own money. Before I passed away, there were many that owed me money for my services, and now I will call them to collect it.” I began to tell her how that wouldn’t be necessary, but she stood up and walked away to start making her phone calls. After that, the dream ended. I was left with so much nostalgia. I was sad, yet happy. She seemed to be filled with life, she was happy, and still very determined.

Lockets of hair symbolize the connection one has with a passed loved one that can never be broken. In Victorian times, it was common for bereaved family members to keep locks of hair from deceased children or family members. These locks of hair were seen as mementos and served to comfort the surviving loved ones.

Love and comfort from our loved ones can come in various ways. Maybe it’s a whisper in the breeze, a song on the radio, a feather at your feet, or even an old wooden box with lockets of hair. Either way, it is there way to show us they are with us, love us, and still want a relationship with us, even after they have crossed.

Horrific Premonition

Waking up in the morning after a long night of dreaming, may sometimes leave you feeling drained, as if you were awake all night. Dreams may come in bits and pieces, or as a long realistic film. They may be very vivid, or can be quite hazy, only leaving you remembering a short amount of information. For this reason, I advise everyone to keep a journal for your dreams. This will help you remember your dream, and will act as a tool for you in the future whenever you want to refer back to it.

This reminds me of a dream I had back on April 15, 2013. I wrote, ” I don’t remember the dream very well, but I felt I was there to fulfill a mission. Although I have never been to New York or Boston, it slightly resembled pictures I’ve seen. There was a large building that I entered. The first thing that caught my eye, was a plaque on the wall that read, “I am with you, Lutheran 8:26”. Not sure if this is a bible scripture of some sort. There was always a man there on my journeys. A protector, it seemed.

Before I headed towards the elevators, I noticed there were two men starring at me in the lobby. They were tall, skinny, with a thin face, they had dark hair, and soft waivy locks. One of the men had thin lips and a faded goatee. They both looked of Arab decent .

As I headed up towards my office, I walked into a room with only two desks. I had only one business partner, whom, for some reason, felt very trustworthy. Suddenly, I look down at the floor, and find a shoebox. I picked up the shoebox and proceeded to open it. It was filled with cookies and chocolate covered strawberries. There was also a small note attached to it which read, “This is for all your hard work. Thank you!” The note was from the two men I had previously seen, before entering the lobby elevators. I mentioned to my colleague as to what a nice gesture it was. She did not seem pleased at all . She simply responded with, “Yeah, too nice! Don’t be fooled. Looks can be very deceiving.”

As my colleague was telling me this, I was shown a mental scene (like that of a premonition) with one of the men I had seen, talking to the other guy  on his cell phone, as if they if they were plotting something.” Then, immediately I woke up. While I was getting ready for work, I had a very anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was a busy day and I had now left to pick up my children from school. I decided to turn on talk radio. They were commentating on the Boston marathon. At 2:49 p.m., the unthinkable happend! Two bombs simultaneously went off during the marathon, injuring and killing innocent people. This feeling of unsteadiness and fear came over me. Later on that evening, they discovered that there were two brothers, of Arab decent, that had conspired together in this crime. They had placed a bag on the sidewalk. Inside, there was a pressure cooker and homemade bomb. I remembered the two men in my dream that were talking about formulating a plot, and my co-worker who said to not be deceived by the delicious things that the shoebox contained.

I spent the whole night thinking, what could I have done? To this day, I’m still not sure of the answer. What I do know, is that I was able to connect both my dream and the horrific incident that took place later that day. Unfortunately, there are dreams you rather not remember, and this was definitely, one of those.
